Kimlan金蘭醬油, a Taiwanese Institution

Soy sauce is much more than a savory condiment like salt. Saltiness one of the key 5 tastes that we encounter on our tongues. Yet, I could argue that Soy Sauce, adds a bonus flavor with its salty component. Hard to describe, but memorable, this flavor brings a smokey-like ingredient. The unmistakable smell is fragrant, unlike regular table or sea salt.

Kimlan an integral part of Taiwanese food history, has a museum for visitors at their main plant in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Similar that of kimchi museum in Seoul, the intimate center showcases the company’s history, soy sauce production, marketing programs, and a store. As you enter, you can see the array of different products, including the most expensive soy sauce, at NT$1000 per bottle (around USD 40).

Kimlan’s distinguished and colorful history is the centerpiece of the museum. Now with this new generation leadership, you can see the renewed growth in the company and its marketing. Anyways, I encourage you to visit the museum and try their soy sauce.

Enjoy the pics.
