Where did the Thirsty Pig crawl to?
The Long Bar at the Waldorf Astoria, on the Bund, is a lounge that features live Jazz Music. As you walk in, it looks as if you stepped back into the grandeur of 1930′s of Shanghai. The bar itself is quite long stretching almost the length of the room. There are low slung tables for four in the middle of the room as well as couches on the wall. The couches are unfortunately uncomfortable. There is also a neon lit oyster bar at the other end of the lounge – which feels out of place. I wouldn’t suggest it being in the lounge.
What did the Thirsty Pig grub on?
The bartenders at the top hotels bars usually know how to make anything with style. Yet I stumped them with one of my favorite drinks – a godmother (vodka and amaretto). I then resorted to an Old Fashioned, which came out tasting like cough medicine. My next drink was a simple gin and tonic. At least they didn’t mess that up.
Last Oink
The Long Bar is a nice place for a drink after taking tourists to the Bund. If I was also in the mood for Jazz, it might be up there as an option.

Too bad about the drinks! Never heard of a “Godmother” before, but it does sound good!
